RFID cards are very versatile and robust and, because of this, have therefore asserted themselves against conventional data media in many areas of our daily lives.
Nowadays, it's hard to imagine many applications without contactless chip cards: for access control (ski resorts, office buildings, hotels etc.) and time and attendance recording systems, or in the form of membership cards, to mention just a few examples, whereby contactless chip cards are among the most robust and durable members of the RFID family.
'Read-only' or 'read-write' chips may be used according to the respective application, making the cards extremely flexible. They can also be passed from one owner to another and the information stored on the RFID chip may be changed as well.
Unlike chip cards with magnetic strips or contacts, the printed image is not distorted by any foreign bodies and maximum creative leeway is permitted on both sides of the card.
